Blinn names 164 student-athletes to athletic director’s honor roll

The Blinn College District has named 164 student-athletes to the Fall 2019 Don Wilhelm Athletic Director's Honor Roll.

To be eligible, student athletes must post a 3.0 or better grade point average (GPA) and pass a minimum of 12 college-level credit hours. Of 361 Blinn student-athletes, 45% made the honor roll.

Twenty student-athletes achieved a perfect 4.0 grade point average: baseball players Patrick Hail, Lloyd Irvin, and Dillon Pawlik; softball players Emily Murphy, Jordyn Smith, and Reena Toomey; women's soccer players Hope Hillhouse, Lindy Jenkins, and Jannell Medellin; cheerleaders Noelle Pratt, Laci Prause, and Bailey Rubal; dance team members Blair Jacobusse and Jamia Smith; women's basketball players Hailey Atwood and Gabriela Bosquez; volleyball player Jenni Liu; men's soccer player Ethan Unger; women's golfer Sierra Jameson; and men's golfer Michael Strout. Trainer Brianna Hill and men's basketball manager Tanner Stein also posted perfect 4.0 GPAs.

Baseball had the most honor roll students with 28, followed by softball with 19.

"The Blinn College athletic department would like to congratulate our honor roll students for their tremendous effort in the classroom," said Scott Schumacher, Athletic Director. "Their dedication to academics and athletics speaks volumes and will lead them to a bright future."

The honor roll is named after former Blinn Athletic Director Don Wilhelm, an NJCAA Hall of Famer who served the College for 10 years.
