Blinn wraps up spring practices with annual Blue & White game on April 26

Blinn College football fans will get their first glimpse of the 2019 team when the Buccaneers host their annual Blue & White game on Friday, April 26, at 6 p.m. at Cub Stadium in Brenham.

"Fans who come out to this game will get an idea of what we are going to be like during the 2019 season," said Ryan Mahon, Blinn head coach. "These guys have been working hard all Spring and we are looking forward to showing off our product."

The game will wrap up the team's spring workouts and will be free to the public. Cub Stadium is located at 1600 E. Tom Green St.

"I am looking forward to seeing how we all come together as an offense for the first time in a game-type situation," said Xavier Hutchinson, freshman wide receiver. "Fans can expect a lot of touchdowns and big plays from us this year."

After finishing the 2018 season ranked 15th in the nation with a 7-4 record after defeating then- 14th ranked Scottsdale in the Valley of the Sun Bowl, the Buccaneers signed 38 players on National Signing Day.

"We have been learning a new defense and have been picking it up quickly, so I am excited to put it to the test next Friday," said Josh Reed, freshman linebacker. "I feel like we have a lot of depth and our defense is going to be great this year. We are all fast and physical and want to be the No. 1 defense in the country."

Blinn will open the 2019 season at Cub Stadium against Texas A&T on Saturday, August 24, at 7 p.m. The Buccaneers will open the Southwest Junior College Football Conference (SWJCFC) at home against Tyler Junior College on Saturday, Aug. 31, at 7 p.m. The Homecoming game will be on Saturday, Sept. 21, at 7 p.m. when the Buccaneers take on Trinity Valley Community College.
