Buccaneers remain No. 5 in NJCAA football rankings

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Blinn College football team remains No. 5 in the NJCAA football rankings released Tuesday after defeating New Mexico Military Institute to stay on top of the Southwest Junior College Football Conference.

The Buccaneers have been ranked No. 5 for two weeks. They are now 6-1 overall and 5-1 in conference play.

Blinn climbed the rankings after defeating No. 3 Trinity Valley and No. 20 Navarro earlier in the season, and holds the No. 1 seed in the Southwest Junior College Football Conference.

The Buccaneers' only loss this season came from No. 14 Tyler, which was ranked No. 4 at the time.

Following a bye week, the Buccaneers will conclude the regular season against No. 18 Northeastern Oklahoma A&M on Saturday, Oct. 28, at 3 p.m.

Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 36 NJCAA national championships since 1987. For more information, visit www.buccaneersports.com.
