Danielle Essix enters her third season as assistant volleyball coach at Blinn College. Prior to her arrival, Essix spent two years as a graduate assistant coach at East Central (Okla.) University.

In addition to her two years as a graduate assistant coach, Essix played for four years at East Central. She finished her career ranked in the top-10 in 11 statistical caregories, including seven spots in the top-five. Essix ranks second in points (1,122.5), third in matches played (123), second in attacks (3,062), second in kills (961) and second in digs (989).

In her senior season at East Central, she led with 275 kills and 340 digs and was named to the All-Great American Conference second team. 

Before joining East Central, Essix was a Texas Sports Writers Association all-state selection and was named district MVP at Commerce High School. 

Essix earned her Bachelor of Science degree in athletic training and her Master of Education in sports administration from East Central University.

Essix is a native of Commerce, Texas.
