Blinn volleyball returns to NJCAA rankings at No. 19

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Blinn College volleyball team landed back on the NJCAA volleyball rankings released Tuesday, Oct. 17, after claiming their 22nd win of the season.

The Buccaneers climbed to No. 19 after claiming their eighth straight conference victory against Coastal Bend College. The win marked their 14th sweep of the season.

The Buccaneers were ranked No. 19 the week of Sept. 12 after upsetting Missouri State University-West Plains and Tyler. Since then the Buccaneers have won 10 of 13 matches to land back onto the rankings.

The Buccaneers are 22-6 overall and tied for first place in the Region XIV Conference with an 8-1 league record. Blinn will finish the conference season Thursday, Oct. 19, against Lee College at 6 p.m. in the P.E. Building.

Blinn has already clinched a spot in the playoffs. The team will face No. 6 Hill College Thursday, Oct. 26, in a non-conference match before heading into the Region XIV tournament.

Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 36 NJCAA national championships since 1987. For more information, visit www.buccaneersports.com.
