Second-ranked Bucs celebrate Homecoming with sweep of Coastal Bend

Abolanle Onipede tallied six blocks and Rebecca Reeve added 10 kills as the second-ranked Blinn College volleyball team celebrated Homecoming with a 3-0 sweep of Coastal Bend College.

The Buccaneers won the match 25-9, 25-14, 25-18 while hitting .375 as a team.

Reeve hit .368 and added six digs, while Trinity Alualu and Rachel Sharp each posted seven kills and Onipede added six.

Jordyn Keamo dished out 21 assists while Justus Tuiolosega added 12, and Alualu matched Reeves' six digs to share the team lead.

The victory improved the Buccaneers to 31-1 on the season and 9-0 in conference play, while Coastal Bend fell to 5-22 on the season and 0-7 in the Region XIV South Zone.

The Buccaneers play at San Jacinto College-Central at 6 p.m. Tuesday, then play their home finale Thursday when they host Trinity Valley Community College at 6 p.m.
