Fourth-ranked Buccaneers use balanced attack to sweep Pioneers

BRENHAM, Texas – The fourth-ranked Blinn College volleyball team used a balanced attack to sweep Wharton County Junior College 25-16, 25-18, 25-17 here Tuesday at the Blinn P.E. Building.

Jaeda AllenRebecca ReeveJordyn Keamo and Tawnee Luafalemana each posted a double-double as five different Buccaneers finished with at least eight kills in the match.

Reeve posted 10 kills and 15 digs, Luafalemana added 10 kills and 14 digs and Allen finished with 10 kills and 11 digs. Keamo quarterbacked the diverse offense with 45 assists and 15 digs.

Abolanle Onipede added nine kills and four blocks and Trinity Alualu added eight kills and 14 digs.

The Region XIV Conference victory improved the Buccaneers to 19-1 on the season and 3-0 in league play. The Bucs are currently on a four-match win streak, with their lone defeat of the season coming against second-ranked Tyler Junior College.

The defending national champion Buccaneers play at Trinity Valley at 6 p.m. Friday in Athens, Texas.
