No. 2 Richland deals Blinn loss on the road, 6-0

DALLAS, Texas — Blinn College women's soccer (2-5, 2-3) suffered a 6-0 loss on the road to the second-ranked team on the NJCCA Division III poll, Richland College, in a non-conference game on Tuesday night.

The Buccaneers had three shots on goal, but never scored. On defense, Kaysi Gordon recorded a season-high nine saves.

"Despite the weather conditions, we were still able to be effective in certain situations and had players step up off the bench and raise the intensity of the game," said Jorden Smith, Blinn head coach. "We continue to find our rhythm and are still learning to adjust in adversity. We've progressed and will continue to progress."

Richland took a 2-0 lead in the first half after scoring in the 13th and 43rd minutes. The Thunderducks added four more to the scoreboard in the second half after delivering in the 53rd, 58th, 62nd and 75th minutes.

Blinn College women's soccer will resume conference play on the road when the Buccaneers take on No. 5 Navarro College on Thursday, Sept. 13, at 5 p.m.

Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 38 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
