Brianna Luton enters her fourth season as an assistant coach for Blinn College women's basketball.
Blinn finished the 2020 season ranked 24th in the nation after posting a 25-7 overall record and 13-4 conference record. The Buccaneers defeated Paris Junior College 62-58 in the NJCAA Region XIV Tournament quarterfinals. In addition, the Blinn women’s basketball team was named a 2019-2020 NJCAA Academic Team of the Year for posting a 3.25 GPA.
Luton was a member of the Buccaneer women's basketball team under head coach Jeff Jenkins for two seasons in 2013-15. Her record as a player during that time was 48-18. Luton was a member of the Blinn women's basketball team that finished in the Elite Eight of the 2014 NJCAA Division I National Tournament.
Following Blinn, Luton finished her playing career at Alcorn State University. As a senior, she was the team's third leading scorer with 9.6 points per game and made 50 three-pointers. Luton graduated from Alcorn in 2017 with a bachelor's degree in general studies.
Luton is a native of Houston, where she was a first-team all-district player for legendary coach Troy Gillespie at Westside High School.
Luton is the daughter of Dayna Luton and niece of John and Julie Luton.
