Collin County defeats Blinn, 63-51

WACO, Texas — Blinn College women's basketball (6-8, 0-3) fell to Collin County Community College, 63-51, on Thursday afternoon to conclude the McLennan Community College Classic.

The Buccaneers finished the tournament with a 1-1 record.

"We played very hard for 35 minutes today and got a lot of good shots that just did not fall," said Jeff Jenkins, Blinn head coach. "I am extremely proud of our effort against a very good Collin County team."

Missy Archie led Blinn's offense with 14 points, while Kristine Ezimako followed with 10.

Collin County took a seven-point lead in the opening quarter and held it to enter the half with a 27-20 advantage.

In the third quarter, Collin County pulled ahead 48-33. In the fourth quarter, Blinn outscored the Cougars 18-15 before falling.

Next, Blinn will resume conference play against Coastal Bend College on Wednesday, Jan. 9, at 5:30 p.m. in the Kruse Center. The Blinn men's basketball game against No. 10 Trinity Valley Community College will follow.

Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 38 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
