Buccaneers use an explosive offense to down Victoria, 89-40

VICTORIA, Texas — Missy Archie posted a season-high 26 points to propel the Blinn College women's basketball team (4-3) to an 89-40 win over Victoria College Monday night. 

"It was good to get a win before the Thanksgiving break," said Jeff Jenkins, Blinn head coach. "We got to play all 10 players tonight and nine scored."

Alexus Wykoff followed Archie with 15 points, while Kristine Ezimako and Imani-Wimbish Gay each posted 12 points. Mariel Wade was next with 10 points. 

The Buccaneers took off with a 28-10 lead in the first quarter and built their lead to 46-21 at the half. Blinn scored 24 points in the third quarter to stay ahead 70-34 and sealed the win by adding 19 points to the scoreboard in the final quarter. 

The Buccaneers will travel to take on McLennan Community College on Monday, Nov. 26, at 5:30 p.m.

Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 38 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
