Temple slips past Blinn, 66-63

TEMPLE, Texas — Despite scoring 18 points in the fourth quarter, Blinn College women's basketball (0-2) fell to Temple College, 66-63, Wednesday night.

"I am proud of our effort and that the kids played hard," said Jeff Jenkins, Blinn head coach. "When you go on the road, you cannot miss layups and turn the ball over. We will learn from this and get better."

Missy Archie led Blinn's offense with 23 points, while Alexus Wykoff followed with 14 and Alexus Brigham with 13.

Temple opened the first quarter with a 17-15 lead, but by halftime Blinn cut the Lady Leopards lead in half, 30-29.

In the third quarter, Temple grew its lead to 50-45. Although Blinn outscored Temple 18-16 in the final quarter, the Buccaneers' rally attempt fell just short.

The Buccaneers will return home to continue non-conference play against Victoria College on Saturday, Nov. 10, at 2 p.m. in the Kruse Center.

Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 38 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
