No. 14 Blinn’s offense comes alive in beating of LSU-Eunice, 90-54

HOUSTON, Texas – The offense for No. 14 Blinn College women's basketball came alive for the first time this season and it turned into a 90-54 victory over Louisiana State University – Eunice in the San Jacinto Classic Saturday afternoon.

Balanced scoring helped the Buccaneers improve to 2-1 on the season as Alexis Oaks led the way with 19 points with the help of three made 3-pointers and Brenisha Coleman was the other Blinn player in double figures with 13 points. The Buccaneers capped the San Jacinto Classic with a 2-0 record for a shot of confidence for the team.

"I think we were able to wear them out with our transition offense," said Jeff Jenkins, Blinn head coach. "Our effort and energy was great and we needed some confidence this weekend."

The Buccaneers had 12 players score in the victory as Jasmine Redmon and Ke'Asia Williams each scored nine, Denisha Ford and Jade Rochelle each scored eight and Jasline Chandler chipped in seven points in the victory. The 90 points scored is the highest of the young season for the Buccaneers.
