Longhorn Network picks up Blinn-Texas softball game

The Blinn College and University of Texas softball game will be broadcast on the Longhorn Network Wednesday, Oct. 25, at 5 p.m.

"The games we get to play against the Big 12 and Southeastern Conferences are big opportunities for our girls to compete at a very high level," Blinn softball coach Rick Church said.

This marks Blinn's fourth pre-season game against the Texas Longhorns in Church's tenure with the program, and the first time that game will be televised. Church enters his 19th season as the Blinn College head coach and holds an 823-343 coaching record. He will be interviewed leading into the fourth inning of the game.

Last season, the Buccaneers went 37-17, including a 19-5 conference record, and placed third in the National Junior College Athletic Association Region XIV Tournament.

Brenham native Meghan Morris is set to be the starting pitcher for the Buccaneers.

Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 36 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
