Blinn College men’s soccer suffers road loss to Coastal Bend

BEEVILLE, Texas — Blinn College men's soccer (4-6, 3-5) suffered a 5-1 loss to Coastal Bend College on Monday evening on the road. 

On offense, the Buccaneers took five shots and two shots on goal. Farit Ha scored Blinn's lone goal in the 87th minute and was assisted by Alexis Ochoa and Josh Frias to avoid a shutout. Ha's goal marks his fourth goal this season.

On defense, Frias recorded four saves, while Erasto Cardenas recorded one. 

Coastal Bend took a 4-0 lead in the first half after scoring in the ninth, 19th, 23rd and 33rd minutes. The Cougars extended their lead to 5-0 after scoring in the 75th minute. Blinn landed on the board in the 87th minute when Ha scored for a 5-1 final. 

The Buccaneers will travel to face Louisiana State University-Eunice on Wednesday, Oct. 10, at 5 p.m.

Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 38 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
