Blinn College men’s basketball takes down Houston Community College, 119-83

BRENHAM, Texas — The Blinn College men's basketball team (7-0) took down Houston Community College, 119-83, on Saturday in the Kruse Center.

With the win, the Buccaneers are undefeated with a 7-0 record. 

"We played very good defense and shared the ball on offense," said Scott Schumacher, Blinn head coach. "Our defense really propelled us to some easy baskets." 

Seven Buccaneers totaled double-digit points in the win. JaQuan Morris led the Buccaneers with 18 points, while Matt Adams followed with 17 points, and Emmanuel White and Kai Tease each chipped in 14. Uriel Velis scored 13 points, while Jalin Suber scored 11 and AJ Rainey scored 10. 

The Buccaneers opened the game with a 16-2 lead and held it for the remainder of the game. Blinn held a 66-37 lead at the half and went on to outscore Houston Community College, 53-46, in the second half for the win. 

Next, Blinn will head on the road to face Victoria College on Monday, Nov. 19, at 7 p.m.

Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 38 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
