Buccaneers suffer road loss against Bossier Parish, 69-52

Bossier City, La. - Blinn College men's basketball struggled to find its offensive rhythm as the Buccaneers fell to Bossier Parish Community College, 69-52, on Wednesday night

"We came out and played really good defense and guarded well in the first half," said Scott Schumacher, Blinn head coach. "Our guys played hard and competed throughout the entire game, but we just couldn't get the ball to fall."

The Buccaneers overall record falls to 7-3 and Region XIV record drops to 1-2 following the loss.

Offensively Markques Houston was the only Buccaneer to reach double digits with 14 points, while Tony Lewis followed with eight points.

The Buccaneers dug an early hole in the first half as Bossier Parish took a 30-18 lead. Blinn worked hard to catch up to Bossier Parish in the second half and put up 34 points, but it wasn't enough as Bossier Parish took the win.

The Buccaneers will return home for a non-conference game against Victoria College on Saturday, Dec. 9 at 4 p.m. in the Kruse Center. Earlier in the season, Victoria defeated Blinn, 78-75.

Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 36 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
