Buccaneers come out flat in road loss to Weatherford, 101-86

WEATHERFORD, Texas – Blinn College men's basketball got into early foul trouble and never found a rhythm in a 101-86 loss at the hands of Weatherford College Saturday evening.

The loss to Weatherford is the first of the season for Blinn as it drops the Buccaneers to 3-1 on the season.

James Harrison and LaKendric Hyson were the only two players that scored in double figures for Blinn with 26 points each.

The Buccaneers dug themselves an early hole with foul trouble and coming out flat in their first road game. Those factors led to Weatherford claiming a 48-39 lead at the half.

Missing free throws is another factor that hurt Blinn as the Buccaneers made only 17-of-30 while Weatherford was an efficient 32-of-39 from the line and made 11 3-pointers. Weatherford was able to extend its lead at the final buzzer to earn the 15-point victory.

Blinn will be back home on Wednesday, Nov. 16 for a rematch against Lone Star College – Cy-Fair at 7:30 p.m.

Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 34 NJCAA national championships since 1987. For more information, visit www.buccaneersports.com.
