Dionte Dean will begin his 10th season as a coach at the collegiate level and first at Blinn College. Dean will serve as Blinn's quarterbacks and wide receivers coach this season. 

Dean brings a total of nine years playing and coaching in the Southwest Junior College Football Conference. Upon graduating from Lancaster High School, he played junior college football at Tyler Junior College from 2004-06. Head coach Ryan Mahon worked as Tyler's offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach while Dean was a player. At Tyler, Dean played at wide receiver and defensive back.

After Tyler, Dean finished his playing career at East Central University in Ada, Okla. At East Central, he earned a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and also served as a graduate assistant earning his master's degree in Sports Administration. As a graduate assistant, Dean coached defensive backs in his first year and then coached wide receivers in his second year. 

After leaving East Central, Dean took a defensive backs coach job at Cisco College. He served at defensive coordinator for two years working with the defensive backs and three years as head coach and offensive coordinator. Calling the offense, coach Dean recruited and coached former No. 1 pocket passer in the nation Richard Lagow, who later signed at Indiana University. During coach Dean's time as offensive coordinator, he engineered an offense that was ranked No. 5 in passing yards a game. As head coach at Cisco, Dean coached two All-Americans and two of the highest recruited players at their positions, Lagow and defensive end Michael Clemons signing at Texas A&M University.

Dean is married to Canyon, Texas native Leslie Dean for six years. Leslie is currently the head softball coach at Cisco. He has two children, daughter Madison Dean and son Kyler Dean.
