Blinn will conclude spring practices with annual Blue & White game on April 27

Blinn College football fans can get their first glimpse of the 2018 team when the Buccaneers host their annual Blue & White game on Friday, April 27, at 6 p.m. at Cub Stadium in Brenham.

"This will be a full-tempo scrimmage that will give fans an idea about our 2018 team," said head coach Ryan Mahon. "We want to make sure that we are moving the football, while also getting as many stops on defense as possible."

The game will wrap up the team's spring workouts and will be free to the public. Cub Stadium is located at 1600 E. Tom Green St.

"Our offense and defense have been working really hard, so I am looking forward to seeing everyone give a lot of effort at this scrimmage," running back Carlos Grace said.

The Buccaneers signed 40 players on National Signing Day in February, and the Buccaneers expect to sign 60 new players by the Fall semester.

"I am looking forward to a good scrimmage because there is going to be a lot of competition," said Djuan Matthews, returning defensive lineman. "Our defense is going to be strong this year, so we are looking to get out there and shut down the offense."

Blinn will open the 2018 season at Cub Stadium against Texas A&T on Saturday, Aug. 25, at 7 p.m. The Buccaneers will open the Southwest Junior College Football Conference (SWJCFC) on the road at Tyler Junior College at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1.
