Michael Brewster is in his eighth year as the assistant cheer and dance coach and ninth season with the Blinn Spirit Program.

Brewster has been involved in cheerleading for more than 15 years as a participant, coach, and choreographer. A graduate of Hawaii Pacific University with a degree in business management, Brewster was a part of three NCA Collegiate National Championships during his time there, including as captain of the 2006 team.

In 2019, Blinn cheer made history as the first team to win six national championships in Small Coed Division II after placing first at the NCA Championships in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019. The cheerleaders finished fourth at the NCA Championships in 2012 and second in 2013. In 2019, Blinn's dance team made history by claiming two national titles in Dance Team Performance Open and Pom Division II for its seventh straight championship.

A native of Tampa, Fla., Brewster grew up doing everything but cheerleading as he won national titles in both roller speed skating and roller hockey. He attended Charleston Southern University on a football scholarship before having his career cut short by a knee injury during his freshman year.
