Bulldogs beat Buccaneers in extra innings

A two-run 10th inning sent South Suburban College past the Blinn baseball team at Leroy Dreyer Field on Wednesday night.

The Bulldogs beat the Buccaneers 4-2 in non-conference action.

After trailing 2-0 through six innings, Blinn rallied for two runs in the bottom of the seventh when Tyler Ellison scored on a passed ball and freshman Brett Rhode singled to score Kent Corso.

Rhode was 1-for-2 in the game. Caden Williams, Trevor Ahin and Jager Toffan each had hits.

Starting pitcher Cullen Jozwiak, a freshman from Brenham, tossed 5 1-3 innings, allowing one hit and striking out eight. Sophomore Shane McCarley took the loss after allowing two runs on two hits and a walk in the 10th.
